The 100 Follower Grind: How To Get To 100 Followers

I recently hit the 100 follower landmark, and trust me, it took a while. But after witnessing the 100 follower grind first hand I decided that in this article I will do something a little bit different. Here’s how to get 100 followers on Medium.

Why do I need 100 followers?

Well, the answer is simple. To be eligible for the Medium Partner Programme you need to have at least 100 followers, among other things. Think of it like YouTube, everyone knows that you need 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours to get monetized, it’s practicly the same thing. Just with 100 followers though.

Step 1: Write articles

First of all, you need to have written at least one article to be eligible for the partner programme anyway, so this one is a no-brainer. You don’t have to write millions of articles a day (HYPERBOLE ALERT, however doing this would be a good idea), maybe just a handful a week. Get the ball rolling, you know?

Step 2: Engage
