Bezos vs Musk vs Branson

The new space race is here and there is no denying it. This time however it's a little less cold war-y and nationalistic and more Twitter feud-y and billionaire braggy.

The Competitors

Who are the space obsessed billionaires at the starting line?

Elon Musk

Perhaps the most well-known of these three, PayPal and Tesla founder Elon Musk is also the creator of SpaceX, the aerospace company which is tearing up the field. NASA has recently agreed with SpaceX that they will be taking up one of their Starship rockets to the moon, crewed. However Musk and SpaceX don’t stop there, their eventual goal, colonize Mars. They want to put one million people in their Starship rockets and send them up to Mars. Musk says SpaceX could be going to Mars by as soon as 2024!

Jeff Bezos

Yes, we are talking about the same Jeff Bezos, multi-billionaire and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos might be one of the most committed person to space. He even quit his job at Amazon to focus on his space company, Blue Origin. Blue Origin has yet another crazy and far-fetched goal just like Space X, to create a moon base, and then eventually colonize Mars. However, Blue Origin plan to do this with a very different kind of rocket, the New Shepard, named after Mercury astronaut Alan Shepard, the first American to go to space, it’s a reusable and suborbital rocket designed to send astronauts and payloads to space.

Richard Branson

Richard Branson is the CEO and Founder of the Virgin Group. You know, Virgin Airlines, Virgin Trains, Virgin Media, and oh yeah, Virgin Galactic. Actually, Richard Branson has two Space brands, yes two. Virgin Orbit, a space company focused on sending satellites into space, and Virgin Galactic, the main player. Virgin Galactic probably has the most realistic goal of all of the companies I have talked about today, Space Tourism, a goal that is already being played out in full effect.

The Conclusion

So you know about companies, you know about the men, but who will win? Well, who knows? We’ll just have to sit back and wait and see!
